VetDx Offline Mode Setup

VetDx now allows Vets to access their planned and in-progress visits whilst working without an internet connection. When a connection to the internet is lost the vet will be alerted and asked if they wish to switch to Offline Mode. Once in offline mode, all visits from the last time the vet was logged into the system with an internet connection will be available offline and displayed as a list. Visits can be viewed and information collected just as though the vet was online. Once the internet connection is restored, the vet remains in offline mode until they choose to exit. Once the vet exits offline mode, all the changes they made to visits whilst offline will be saved to the online system. Other users will then be able to see these changes. VetDx Offline Mode

Things to note:

  • If a vet works on a visit whilst offline, once they exit offline mode their changes will overwrite the online version of the visit. This means that if anyone else has changed the visit whilst the user is in offline mode, those changes will be overwritten and lost. It is important therefore that only one user is responsible for editing a visit rather than several. VetDx Offline Mode
  • To ensure the latest visit data is available offline it is important that a Vet logs into the system at some point prior to conducting a visit. If a Vet views a visit whilst online, that should guarantee it to be available offline.
  • Offline mode should be considered a beta/experimental feature. Feedback on issues and ways to improve it are welcome.
